Featuring Alissa Hof

Alissa Hof ’17 has returned home from Fall’15 study abroad at University of Limerick in beautiful Ireland. While at Limerick, Alissa studied Equine Anatomy and Physiology, Marketing Communications, and even some Irish Traditional Music. Classes were split into lectures and tutorials with lectures often having more than a hundred students in them. Finals counted very heavily as there were fewer smaller assignments throughout the semester. As for accommodations, Alissa shared a townhouse with 7 other American students but met and made friends with students from France, Germany, and Canada. Her sightseeing trips included visits to the Cliffs of Moher, the Giant’s Causeway, Belfast, Cork, and Galway. Alissa had a wonderful experience and claims she actually experienced more culture shock upon her return home as she had embraced and learned to love the Irish culture. Alissa’s advice to students – “Just go – make it work. It was one of the best experiences of my life”
