Prof. Debbie Lev has taught in the Communication program since 1991.  She has been chair of the then English and Communication department and has added several key courses to the current Communication curriculum in the Communication and Fine Arts Department.

At Centenary, she spear-headed the introduction of and teaches in the Film Studies track in the Communication major, and specializes in the journalism track, as well.  She is the faculty advisor for the student newspaper on campus, The Quill, and is a faculty overseer of the yearbook, The Hack, while not teaching the course related to it.

She is a past president of NJ Press Women and is a member of the National Federation of Press Women and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.  She has been a journalist and has taught in the past at William Paterson and Bergen County Community College.


Prof. Lev has been instrumental in creating an oral history of women journalists in New Jersey and has written for NJ Magazine, a black and white feature magazine about the state.
